Engage With The True Light

When the LORD created the earth and said, “Let there be light,” and light came into being, God’s creative power and infinite control was demonstrated. When you trust in the LORD Jesus, God the Father by the power of the Holy Spirit will shine His ‘light’ into your situation. In Christ Jesus you have the ‘Light’ of life, therefore, you don’t have to walk in darkness.

“Jesus said to the people, ‘I am the Light of the World. If you follow Me, you won’t be stumbling through the darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12 (NLT).

In a spiritual sense darkness refers to confusion, this darkness can hide or distort what is true, and therefore, colour your belief, feelings and affect your behaviour, and make it difficult for you to understand what is true and what is false. God planned that you live your life in the ‘Light,’ and that light is given to you by Jesus. ‘Light of the World.’

John Piper posits “The light of Christ,” “is the brightness of God shining on the retina of the human Soul.” The Bible informs us, that we are created to serve the Creator, our eternal Sovereign King. As a believer in Jesus, because you have a relationship with him you can have the dark parts of your heart brightened. Light is part of who Jesus is.

We all have desires. When you delight in the LORD, He will give you the desires of your heart according to His will and purpose for you. The active behaviour that the Light requires is diligence, and a commitment from you.

“Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:5 (NKJV).

In order to believe the Bible, the truth of it must be accepted. Your knowledge and concepts, which arise from interacting with Scriptures will have their own frame of reference.

Interacting with Scriptures and allowing the light of God’s word into your heart will help change your underlying beliefs about the world, and enable you to attain a new set of assumptions about your circumstances, others and the LORD. Psalm119:105 (Bible).
